Terms of Service
Last updated 29 October 2026
Please read these terms before using Rentailo. They explain what the Service does, what we expect from you and what you can expect from us.
1. About these terms
These terms form an agreement between you and [Company legal name] (“Rentailo”, “we”, “us”) for the use of the Rentailo website and application (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.
If you use the Service on behalf of a business, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for that business.
2. What Rentailo does
Rentailo helps independent rental businesses manage bookings, inventory, handovers, returns, care and repair, and manual payment records. Stores can share read-only rental slip links with their customers.
Rentailo does not take bookings from the public, deliver items, or process payments between you and your customers. Amounts you record in Rentailo are your own records.
3. Your account
- Give accurate information and keep your email address up to date.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Store owners decide who joins their team and which role each member has. Remove access when someone leaves.
- Tell us promptly at [contact email] if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
4. Your store data
You keep ownership of the information you add, such as products, photos, customers, bookings and payment records (“Store Data”). You give us permission to store and process Store Data only to provide and secure the Service.
You are responsible for having a lawful basis to record your customers’ details and for telling them how you use their information. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
Store owners can ask us for an export of their Store Data while their account is active.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use the Service to:
- break any law or the rights of others;
- upload malware or content you have no right to share;
- try to access another store’s data or bypass security limits;
- overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the Service.
We may suspend access that puts the Service or other users at risk.
6. Free trial
The first store created by an account gets a free trial for 30 days from the moment the store is created. No payment details are needed. During the trial the store can have up to 10 active products and 2 team members (the owner and 1 staff member), with unlimited bookings.
Each account can use the free trial once. Stores created later, including after the first store is closed, and stores you join as a team member do not get a trial.
When the trial ends, nothing is charged. Your records stay available, but adding products or bookings is blocked until the store owner chooses a paid plan.
7. Plans and billing
Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance. Each plan sets limits, such as the number of active products and team members, shown before you subscribe.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders and handles payments, taxes, invoices and payment-related customer service. Paddle’s Buyer Terms also apply to your purchase. Taxes may apply according to your location.
You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless the law requires otherwise.
If a plan ends or is downgraded, your existing records stay available, but adding records above the new limits is blocked.
8. Refunds
If you are not satisfied with Rentailo, you can ask for a full refund of a subscription payment within 15 days of the date of that payment. This applies to your first payment and to each renewal.
To ask for a refund, contact us at [contact email] or contact Paddle through paddle.net, and include your order number or the email address used at checkout. Refunds are issued by Paddle to the original payment method; your bank or card provider may take several working days to show it.
When a payment is refunded, the subscription it paid for ends and the store returns to having no paid plan. Your records stay available as described above.
We may refuse a refund where there is evidence of fraud, refund abuse or other manipulative behaviour. This policy does not limit any rights you have under consumer protection law, including any statutory right to cancel.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service available and your data safe, including regular backups. The Service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control. We may improve or change features; we will give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce what your plan includes.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, after notice where practical. Before an account is closed, store owners can ask for an export of Store Data; after closure, data is deleted according to our Privacy Policy.
11. Responsibility and liability
The Service is provided “as is”. You remain responsible for decisions about your rentals, customers, deposits and payments.
To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will tell account owners by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated terms.
13. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of [governing jurisdiction]. Questions about these terms: [contact email].
